The Black Witch By Laurie Forest

Book: The Black Witch Author: Laurie Forest Series: Book One of the Black Witch Chronicles Rating: 10 out of 5 stars Where do I start? There are so many things about this book that I loved, I could probably talk about it for hours. But we’ll start out with a spoiler free overview, and then get a little in depth (mainly on some characters) for those that don’t mind some spoilers. The book follows Elloren Gardner, 17 year old Gardnerian who, as far as she is aware, is powerless. She lives in a wonderful (in my opinion) fantasy world of magic. Gardnerians are a race filled with witches and warlocks, often referred to as Mages. Their power is measured by levels, with one being the lowest and five being extremely powerful. Elloren is a level one, though she looks identical to her grandmother, who was the Gardnerian’s last Black Witch- the most powerful Mage alive. Her grandmother died during a huge war between many races, and there is prophesied to be another

Title: Be Mine For Christmas Author: Alicia Street Rating: 3/10 Category/Genre: Fiction, Holiday, Romance Recommended For: 12+ Single mom Ellie and her six year old son, Brandon, are living without too much extra. Ellie recently got laid off from her job at a museum, and is in need of a new one. While at a tree farm one weekend, Ellie loses sight of Brandon. While looking for him, she runs into Reece Madsen, owner of the tree farm they’re at. Reece shows her where Brandon is at, and Ellie feels an instant attraction to him. He feels one towards her as well, and from there starts the process of Reece convincing Ellie that they would be a good match. While this book is a novella, I feel like it was very well developed, and I was invested in what was happening to the characters. Brandon was a cute little boy, and was probably one of the best characters in the book. Reece was as sweet as can be, and I loved his sister. Overall this was a very good book, but I felt like t
